FROM TRASH TO TREASURE

You’ve heard, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” This is even more true, “If you ain’t broke, God can’t use you.” You would think just the opposite. But no. Actually, the light of God’s Spirit will only shine through the broken places in your life. There is no other way for it to get out. And people are drawn to the light that comes through those broken places. People aren’t drawn to perfect people. Perfect people make broken people feel even more hopeless. But when a broken person has light shining out of those broken places, THAT brings hope.

People are broken. They are filled with shame. You can’t fathom what happens when they see you were just as broken and have been healed. You think that your brokenness disqualifies you when, in fact, it is the reason you can shine.

Jesus is the redeemer and restorer of broken people. He takes what other people have thrown away and transforms it into treasure.
