ROCKING WITH JESUS

If you have walked with Jesus for a long time Satan’s temptation will generally come more in the form of busyness rather than badness. The devil wants you to be carried along by a current of activity and lists.

Have you thought about the fact that there is no rushing in relationship? There is lingering in relationship. But lingering is what we don't have time for. There are things to do, people to see, and places to go. Where is the time for lingering? Where is the time for worship, adoration, and contemplation? Where is the time for front porch moments where you rock with Jesus?

Whatever you are doing, just stop. There is nothing of more importance than this. You can't make room for Jesus without taking something out. God can't fill what is already full. You don't honor God by doing more. Most of the time you honor God by doing less. Make the time to sit by the roaring fire with a cup of hot cocoa. Sit by the fire and contemplate the Light of the World. Visit with friends. And when you visit with those friends make certain you are “exalting His name together.” Take the toxic clutter out of the space that belongs to Jesus and make room.
