GOD’S AMAZING GRACE

GOD'S AMAZING GRACE

Don’t ever forget that grace is always available for any sin. You may have done something you promised you would never do again, but you did. You may have done something to someone who told you that what you did was unforgivable. What you did might be something so shameful that you don’t think you could live if it was ever uncovered.

It doesn’t matter what your sin was, or how recent it was, there is always sufficient grace to cover it completely, forgive it totally, and give you a brand new beginning. There is ALWAYS enough grace. Your sin is never bigger than God’s grace. No matter what it was or is! Satan’s favorite lie is to tell you there is no way back.

But, and this is a big but, this amazing grace is not activated until you repent and turn from your sinful ways.

Your sin might have been as recent as ten minutes ago. That doesn't disqualify you from God's forgiveness. But you must genuinely repent of it (an act that involves more than trite words, it involves remorse and turning from it) to claim His grace.

Paul said in Romans 6:1, 2, "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?"

God's grace forgives us, but God's grace also changes us. If it doesn't change you, that is an indication that you haven't experienced it. My father, Adrian Rogers, used to say “A lost man leaps into sin and loves it, but a saved man lapses into sin and loathes it."

If sin does not sicken you and bring you to true repentance, I would question whether or not you truly know the author of grace. There is no sin that cannot be forgiven, but there is also no sin that should be continued.

Grace has two meanings to it. The first is undeserved forgiveness. But the second is enablement to live as you ought. You could spend a lifetime discovering all the fullness of God's amazing grace.
