GETTING DRESSED

When you dress for the day, do you put things on and take them off, and then put something else on? Some of you do that several times every morning. I think women do it more than men. In Colossians 3 Paul actually tells us there are things we need to take off and things we need to put on every day. But it isn't your clothes.

Colossians 3:8 says: "PUT THEM ALL ASIDE: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth.

Colossians 3:12 says: "PUT ON: a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." Colossians 3:14 says: "And beyond all these things PUT ON love, which is the perfect bond of unity."

Have you dressed for the day? Do you spend more time picking out the right blouse than you do clothing yourself spiritually? Don't come out of your prayer closet before you look good enough to be in public.
