GOD IS BUSY COLLECTING TEARS AND COUNTING HAIRS

"You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in Your bottle. You have recorded each one in Your book." Psalm 56:8, NLT

There is no more tender, compassionate truth than the fact that the God who created the universe cares about every tear you ever cry. I’m not just expressing that God is a God of compassion. It is even more staggering than that. Almighty God keeps track of, collects, and records every single tear you shed in His bottle (not just a generic bottle, but HIS bottle) with YOUR name on it!

When think you are weeping alone in the night, you are not alone. There is not a single tear that He doesn’t cry with you. If you have a hard time memorizing Scripture, try this one, “Jesus wept” (John 11:35).

He is the God who sees. He is the God who cares. He is the God who remembers.

Not only does this God see and collect every tear you shed, but He also numbers every hair on your head. “‘What is the price of five sparrows–two copper coins’? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows” (Luke 12:6-7).

There is nothing concerning you that doesn’t concern Him. “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their life” (Psalm 37:23).

Oh, dear friend, I pray that the eyes of your heart would be enlightened so that you can see the unfathomable love of the Father. Every tear, every hair, every detail!

In Psalm 139 David says, “O LORD, You have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord” (Psalm 139:1-4). Then He says, “How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, You are still with me!” (Psalm 139:17-19).

When you finish memorizing, “Jesus wept,” I think the entirety of Psalm 139 would be a life-altering text to do next.

Frederick Lehman penned these words in 1917, “Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made; were ev’ry stalk on earth a quill, and ev’ryone a scribe by trade; to write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry; nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky.”
