LOOSEN YOUR GRIP

God is teaching me to loosen my grip on the things of this world. He is calling me to let go of lesser things. He is giving me the desire to submit to His pruning and the shaping of my character.

He is prompting me to open my hands and say, “Lord, take anything out of my hands that is not pleasing to You. Just take it! Take it, whether it be a person, an attitude, unforgiveness, or something I’ve made into an idol by giving it more priority or attention than I do You. I relinquish control and I actually ask You to prune me, shape me, refine me, purify me, and remake me as You see fit.”

I will testify that as I have opened my hands to Him that He has taken some things out of them that were not for my good or His glory. But He has always replaced everything He has taken with something infinitely better.

When I have opened my hands to Him I have found that He has opened His hands to me. Psalm 145:16 NLT says: “When open Your hand, You satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.”

I want to challenge you. Open your hands to a loving and merciful God who longs to put good things that will truly satisfy into your empty hands. You are holding on to trash when you could be holding on to treasure.
