I SPENT TWO HOURS PRAYING PSALM 103 BACK TO GOD
Some Psalms are so deep they give you an entire ocean to swim in. If there was one thing I could inspire you to do, it would be to find uninterrupted, large chunks of time to abide in the presence of God by speaking the Scriptures out loud in the voice of God to yourself and then praying them out loud in the first person back to Him. Make them passionately personal. If you have a soft, surrendered heart you won't want to leave His presence. You'll want to linger all day long.
There was a time in my life when I couldn't focus on God for more than a minute or two without my mind wandering. I found that there were things in my life I loved more than I loved God. After many years, I opened my hands and gave those things to Him. If you have no idea what I am talking about, I suspect you have some area in your life that you have not yet released to Him. When you do, His truth and life will flood your soul like a torrent. I can't explain it better than that, it's just my testimony.
I googled the image of Jesus I've included with this post and enlarged it on my computer screen. I know it isn't a picture of Him, but it helps me focus. I wanted a picture of His eyes looking straight at me and His nail-pierced hands opened back to my open hands. There may be a better one, but I used this one this morning.
You don't have to do what I do. But find a place, find a time, and abide in His presence. Do it every day and your mind, your heart, your thoughts, your desires, and your very life will change before your eyes. "My heart has heard you say, 'Come and talk with Me.' And my heart responds, 'LORD, I am coming'" (Psalm 27:8, NLT).
