DON’T MAKE LIFE DECISIONS BASED ON WHAT PAYS THE MOST

When facing a job change, career change, or location change, you need to wisely consider these types of questions:

What is best for your spiritual growth?

What would enable you to prioritize your family?

Where would you be able to best utilize the giftings and calling God has put within you?

What would give you the time and flexibility to spend time with God?

Unfortunately, many people eliminate opportunities that pay less than their current income. They think about the money they are making rather than the price they are paying.

Many people will take a job or pursue an opportunity solely based on whether or not the pay will be upgraded. The Bible says, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?” (Mark 8:36, NKJV).

Proverbs 1:18-19, NLT says what people who make their decisions based upon money are doing to themselves: “But these people set an ambush for themselves; they are trying to get themselves killed. Such as the fate of all who are greedy for money; it robs them of life.”

Is what you think you are providing for yourself and your family actually robbing yourself and your family of life?

Having riches does not mean you are greedy. You may or may not be. The scripture says, "The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow to it" (Proverbs 10:22, NKJV). Does the money you are making add sorrow or joy to your life? If it adds sorrow, it doesn't matter what you make.
