PSALM 23

There could not be a better way to start the day out than with "The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need" and then to turn over and read in Ephesians 1:3, "All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ."

Why are you worried? What are you so frantically trying to accomplish? Why are you concerned that there won't be enough, or even worse, that you won't be enough? You already have all that you need! Don't just skim over that. You have everything you need. Let that sink in. You are neglecting your family and ruining your health when you already have everything you need. You have already been blessed with every spiritual blessing! Quit striving. Quit stressing. Sheep don't strive, they just show up. Everything they need is provided. When you follow the Shepherd, you will find rest for your soul. You don't have to figure it out. All you have to do is follow.

The presence of the Shepherd provides you with companionship, protection, comfort, provision, goodness, unfailing love, and hope for the future. You don't have to frantically pursue these things. Psalm 23:6 says they are pursuing you. "Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever." I will live in the house of the LORD forever sounds a lot like "and they lived happily ever after" to me.

I choose rest instead of rush today. I am too blessed to be stressed.
