THE DAY AFTER
Nothing is more disappointing than strolling through social media and seeing all the things done for others that weren't done for you on Valentine's Day. It is said that it is the day all women are disappointed and men are STILL broke. The men spent money but on the wrong thing! A dear friend who works for a florist told me that some men ordered bouquets of roses for their Valentine's that cost between $500 and $1000. If my man did that for me I would be mad as a hornet. I might even notify Elon Musk to investigate!
Most of you aren't mad because of the ridiculous cost of the card or the flowers. You are hurt because you received nothing. Valentine's Day was a day of feeling unloved, unwanted, and unnoticed. It was and always is a day of loneliness.
Not so fast. YOU ARE LOOKING FOR LOVE IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES!
Psalm 45 is a Psalm about the king of Israel, but it is symbolic poetry about the King of Kings. This King desires YOU to be His valentine. He desires you to be His queen.
"Listen to me, O royal daughter; take to heart what I say. Forget your people and your family far away. For your Royal Husband delights in your beauty; honor Him, for He is your Lord" (Psalm 45:10-11, NLT).
Forget EVERYONE else! Jesus is your king and He delights in your beauty. He is all you want. He is all you need.
God speaks to you again in Isaiah 43:4, NLT. He says, "You are precious to Me. You are honored, and I love you."
I love the interpretation of the Amplified Bible in Hebrews 13:5: "He has said, 'I WILL NEVER [under any circumstances] DESERT YOU [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpfless], OR WILL I FORSAKE or LET YOU DOWN or RELAX MY HOLD ON YOU [ASSUREDLY NOT]!'"
It looks like you received the Valentine words and card you wanted after all. Sometimes you don't hear or read what He is saying to you. Why does He speak in a still, small voice? It is the voice of intimacy. He wants you to lean in and come close.
